Methotrexate to Enbrel
So after moving up to methotrexate injects for the past month - they did not slow down the arthritis at all. So in a few weeks I will begin my first biologic - Enbrel. Awaiting my final TB test and chest X-ray. I have mixed feelings about this - I have been awaiting this change for along time. My hope is that by the summer I will be mobile. Bike rides with the kids and playing on the beach. I want to be active and not worry that one busy day is going to send me to the couch for three.
I know there are other Moms with RA and PsA out there. How did you feel about moving onto a biologic? How quickly did you see results?

Enbrel has done wonders for me. I've been on it for 4 years now. I do worry about the long term affects, but I can move now, do Yoga, and most importantly of all, care for and hold my baby!
ReplyDeleteI've also tried cutting out gluten; which by my surprise helped! I didn't flare for weeks.
There are many factors to our flare ups I believe including the integration of emotional stress, lack of sleep, and also Psychoneuroimmunology.
